Wedding showcase: Eltham Palace
In search of a wedding venue? Are you always keen to keep to date on your wedding locations? With their wedding fair only a few months away we pay homage to one of our favourites - Eltham Palace.
A venue with two personalities is not always a good thing. In this case it most certainly is! Eltham Palace, nestled into its own leafy glade in South East London, is an amazing backdrop for events. Its art deco entrance hall boasts amazing wood panelling with overbearing guards and spears resting at the door (very Game of Thrones). This venue once hosted prestigious guests gathered for glamorous cocktail parties, and still does. Socialites and politicians, royals and artists have all enjoyed hospitality here. This eye-catching room is a mix of Art Deco and cutting-edge Swedish design. It’s still our favourite bit of the venue. The Art deco house usually hosts our bride and groom’s ceremony amongst their intimate gathering. They then have the luxury of spilling out onto the terrace and swooning in the sunshine over the now landscaped moat and ‘Instagram ready’ gardens.
The other surprising side (unless you wondered around the turning circle before entrance) is the Medieval palace. Again its right out of the film makers dream list, with glorious hammer-beam roof and minstrel’s gallery. This space is epic for long table feasting or bustling tables around a dancefloor area.
It’s super easy to see why this is the perfect wedding location.
Keen to see more? We will be at the wedding fair in the evening of 5th October - We will be the enthusiastic and excitable ones, as it’s still a venue we love! Fancy coming along? Email Eltham Palace
